The website includes national business statistics. Examples from the 34 categories include total number of U.S. businesses, largest employers by industry, inventory turnover ratios by industry, and employee productivity by industry. It also contains U.S. national averages for profitability and operating ratios for small business industries.
Bizstats also includes information concerning national industry averages for all US corporations, all profitable US corporations, all US subchapter S corporations, all profitable partnerships and limited liability companies, and all profitable US sole proprietorships. Unfortunately, since Bizstats focused on small US businesses (which are almost all privately owned), they are not traded on the NYSE. This causes the compilation of this data to take longer than publicly traded companies and results in non-current data.
