Resource Summary

Academy of Management Review (AMR) publishes new theoretical insights that advance our understanding of management and organizations. AMR is receptive to a variety of perspectives, including those seeking to improve the effectiveness of, as well as those critical of, management and organizations. The contributions of AMR articles often are grounded in "normal science disciplines" of economics, psychology, sociology, or social psychology as well as nontraditional perspectives, such as the humanities. AMR publishes novel, insightful and carefully crafted conceptual work that challenges conventional wisdom concerning all aspects of organizations and their roles in society.
Special Topic Forum (STF) is a solicited and refereed collection of articles and conceptual notes that address a predetermined theme. The theme typically addresses areas of inquiry that are not adequately attended to in the management and organization literature and that are sufficiently broad enough to be of interest to more than one segment of the Academy of Management’s membership. The goal of an STF generally is to stimulate additional research in the focused upon area of inquiry. This guide outlines the end-to-end processes by which an STF comes to appear in AMR.
AMR is a part of The Academy of Management (the Academy; AOM), one of the premier professional associations for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations.
